How It Works

The whole machine in one screen, in plain language. Everything below is what the contract actually does. The numbers come from the same constants its tests are written against.

DemoSimulated: no contract, no wallet, no real money. The fee, the distribution and the caps match the deployed machine, so the numbers move the way the real ones do.

What VEGAS is

VegasCoin was deployed to Ethereum in January 2017, a year and a half after the network launched. 777,777,777 tokens, no mint function. It has been sitting at the same address ever since.

January 2017 was an odd moment to put a token on Ethereum. ETH traded around ten dollars. The DAO had collapsed the previous summer and the fork that followed had left two chains behind it. ERC-20 was still an open draft, so tokens were assembled by hand from whatever template was circulating; this one came off the ConsenSys template. The ICO summer, CryptoKitties, Uniswap and everything anyone later called DeFi were all still ahead.

The rest of it is what happens when you buy. 10% of your purchase enters the game. You receive most of it back as a historic Ethereum token. 1% keeps the machine running. The remainder grows the discovery fund for everyone. You walk away holding VEGAS and something older.

Every purchase unearths a relic.

Where the game runs

Built as a Uniswap V4 hook, the game runs entirely on Ethereum. No server, no middleman, no account. The fee, the odds, the discovery fund and the delivery of your relic are all steps inside the same transaction your wallet signs, enforced by the contract rather than by trusting anybody to run it honestly.

This website is a convenient interface and nothing more. The contract works the same way from any Ethereum wallet, any block explorer, any script. If this site disappears tomorrow the machine keeps running and every relic already in your wallet stays there, because it was never holding them for you in the first place.
